Saturday 25th September

Today was a success!!
Tho my day started at 5 a.m, and when I went to check the mares, I had next doors cows in my paddocks, I saw one magpie, and at that point I thought I would go back to the safety of my darkened room and sleep thru til the 26th....I was very pleased that so many people turned up!
Thankyou so very much to the people who gave up their day to come visit us, as far away as Penzance, North Devon and the other side of Hereford.
Remmer and Sue gave a very informative talk on Reproduction and AI, and I am sure that both of these proffesionals installed alot confidence in the novice breeder.
Thankyou Mum for doing enough food for the feeding of the 5000. I was looking forward to the feast, however, there was nothing left apart from a stick of celery and a pickled onion!!!
I have made alot of new friends and so have my horses!!!
I think alot of people went home a little more Morgan converted than before they came - JOB DONE!!!!!!!

6th October

After the success of the Open Day, and alot of positive feedback, people have asked if I will put a mailing list on the site, so they can be updated with news and future events at the farm. I have happily done this for everyone and it can be found on the Home page (THANKYOU TIM FROM LANDSIDE!!!!!)  Let me know who you are in your Email if you would like to sign up!
We are all ready arranging things for the next few months - alot of interest was shown regarding Jodie & Rachels offer of doing lessons for everyone. Sue Carden will also do a clinic in the new year  with a live demo on collecting from a stallion and inseminating a mare, going thru in detail the process of A.I. Remmer will also give a vetinary talk on subjects of interest.

11th October 2010

Jodie Lister has very kindly offered her time to give lessons at Froghole. From beginner to advanced she caters for all. For those who are willing to learn, she offers encouragement, gives support  & installs confidence in both horse & rider.
Our first clinic will be held on 21st NOVEMBER. There are 6 spaces left (depending on size) which will be a 45 min one to one or a group of no more than 2 people so Jodie can divide her time equally. Please contact me to book your space!

New Year ...New Hopes... New Editions!!

Happy New Year everybody!! I hope that 2011 holds everything you hope for!
Even tho it was only last week, 2010 seems so long gone. It was filled with lots of ups and downs for me, but the ups out weighed the downs and so many positive things happened, Im still smiling into 2011!!! We are so out of the way here, we were hit badly by the snow, that basically ground the UK to a halt!!! We had no running water or heating in the Shack for 3 weeks and 4 days... and yes I was counting!!!! Having to burn pipes in the fields to defrost them, and fill up water containers with about 4 hoses joined together, made me appreciate something that is taken for granted every day - did you know it takes 5 litres to flush a loo!!!!! When we finally thawed out, if anybody didnt know me, they could have been forgiven for thinking I needed to go for a little 'holiday' somewhere, as the novelty of being able to turn a tap on and off, and have running water was over powering!!! However, I would like to clarify, we DID have a bath in those weeks without water - I just had to travel to Mums to have one, and yes I did make the most of it!!!!
The most exciting thing for me this year must be the eagerly awaited arrival of my kids!! Ruby and Entitled are in foal to Enigma, and Maddie is in foal to Key Biscayne. I dont think I will get much sleep March thru til May, but I sure it will all be worth it!! The new foaling boxes are nearly done, the girls are extremely fat and getting the pregnancy waddle!!! I am so excited - my first crop of babies for Heritage Morgans.
In the next few weeks Enigma is off to School. I am very much looking forward to getting on my boy!
Its going to be a busy year in 2011, what with the babies, showing, breeding and normal life(Is there such a thing!!!?) Bring it on!! Heres to 2011!!!!

13th April 2011

Had a bit of a shock this morning when I went to feed...nothing out of the ordinary....same old routine... 7 days a week.. only this morning I was not expecting another pair of eyes looking back at me from Maddies stable!!!!! A little face appeared from behind her Mums backside looking at me with the same look of shock on her face as I looked at her! It was an honour to be the first human that she saw in her life. This little lady was not supposed to be with us until next week, so her early arrival was definitely a shock. Maddie is just the model Mum, doesnt even look as tho she has just given birth - Im so proud of her. She has put up with the 'Maternity Unit' being open all day and is now having a well earned rest.
Welcome in to the world little Lady, its a pleasure to have you here!!!!

Good Friday 22nd April 2011

HM Bugatti  (Enigma x PJB Ruby Tuesday)

AT LAST, Ruby has decided that her baby was done to perfection and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy at 01.05 this morning . I know, because we were there!!! I went to bed at 12.45 A.M and Graham got me up at 12.55 A.M!!! I am so pleased we got to witness him coming into the world. To hear Ruby 'talking' to him and watch her clean him all up- it was as tho she had done it a thousand times before. Being a Mum certainly kicked in quickly and she is very proud of her boy, in a positive way! After 6 weeks of waiting and worrying, hes finally here and hes perfect. Not forgetting the other half of the tadpole - Enigma did good!!

The last, but by no means least - new little life arrived at Heritage Morgans!
At 12.02 A.M Trebles Entitled gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Mum and little man doing well....... and I can finally, have a full nights sleep!
I could not have asked for any more from my girls, Enigma and the Frozen Semen we used from Key Biscayne. Everything I wanted - they gave. I am so proud of each and every one of them!!

7th June 2011

Where does the time go?? Days are just flying by this Summer!! The babies fill most of my time - definitely in a positive way! They are great time wasters and each one different and each having their own personalities and ways! They are all walking out in their headcollars on their best behaviour!
Belle, Im sure has been on this earth before, SUCH a good little girl, loves life and LOVES playing with her nephew, Manny.
Manny is a very special little man, and I have very high hopes for him for the future. A little unsure of himself at the minute, his confidence is growing daily, almost forgets himself when hes playing with Belle, which really shows what he is going to be like in the future - AWESOME!!!!!!
Louie !!!! Louie, Louie Louie.......you know at school when you used to get your school report, with 'Could do better'?? Thats my boy!!!!! Hes the lad, who always comes home with his trousers ripped, covered in mud, wiping  his nose with the back of his sleeves, hence silver sleeves!!!!!!!!! He just LOVES his life. I dont think I have ever known a foal who, after being here for such a short time, comes and calls to his name!!! Ruby has turned grey overnight. Hes my little thug, and I love him!!!!
I went to the Easter Clinic at Monnington with lessons from Phil Fountain (Peeper Ranch USA). I took Vivian who came home with a gold star! We both learnt alot and I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend away at the Foundation Farm and seeing friends I havent seen in a while.
Peter Berry came for a visit last weekend - its always great to see my mate! We had a great day playing with the kids and finished his visit off with a lovely meal at our local country Inn. I keep trying to convince him to move down South!!
Enigma is coming on great under saddle - he will go to his first show in August, which Im looking forward to. He has  a  few mares this year and Im sure he will be glad to see Sue after her recooperation from her surgery. It will be good to have her back!!

The Girl did GOOD!!! Western Region Show 2011 - Monnington Court
We had a lovely weekend up at Monnington for WRS. Miss Vivian was such a good girl on the lorry, especially seeing it was a Fri afternoon with all the work and weekend traffic, it is the road trip from hell for us living so far away, made even worse having to part with nearly £20 for the pleasure of going across the Severn Bridge. I think we will go the other way in future!!! The show was well supported with lots of new faces and the members we always look forward to seeing! We were over an hour late getting started, due to the well supported Dressage Classes. It was nice not having to get up early and the relaxed atmosphere paid off for humans and horses!!!
Miss Vivian loved being back in the ring, doing her stuff. She is great fun to show!

Miss Vivian -  1st Pleasure Saddle
A first for both of us as a team with me on top instead of on the ground!!
A very big Thankyou to Tom Hamilton who tailed for us, and who looked so smart (and kept me sane through out the show!!) THANKYOU TOM!!!!!!

European Champ Show

We always look forward to our  'holiday' at Hartpury for the Championship Show. Im glad its back at the College, especially as we were allowed to use the big new Indoor Arena! I could fit my arena at home x 10 in there!! The only downfall was, it was so hot and keeping collection at canter in there, nearly killed me!!!
Tom did a great job with Vivian in the Junior Pleasure Class!
Vivian winning her Limit Pleasure Class
Miss Alivia, who belongs to Peter Berry of PJB Morgans, came for Boot Camp before the show!! She has never been shown in the UK before. Such a lovely willing young lady. Pete did a great job with her on their ring debut, winning the Junior In Hand Championship!

A VERY big CONGRATULATIONS to Nikki Rae (KGA Morgans)  & Springmill Superstition, for winning by unanimous vote, the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 3YR old Park Harness Class at Morgan Grand National In OKC!! Congratulations to Nena Marlin who owns 'Perfect'! I think we can see by the picture that Nikki was just slightly pleased with her win!!

3rd Jan 2012

2012...2012?? Was it not only yesterday we were enjoying Show Season?? I must be getting older as life is flying by far too quickly. Happy New Year everyone - I hope 2012 is a healthy and prosperous year for everyone!!!

We are certainly in the depth of Winter - the paddocks are water logged, its cold, its miserable and I cannot wait until the clocks go back and the nights become lighter, so the real work can begin!!! I am very much looking forward to 2012 - Ruby is enjoying being back under saddle. I did miss riding her. After I weaned the babies, (which must have been the easiest weaning I have ever done!) The girls were enjoying being girls again and not Mums. Ruby started standing by the gate, head down, she wasnt ill, just that bored she didnt know what to do with herself, so one nice afternoon, she came in, got brushed, saddle and bridle on ....... and off we went!!!! She hadnt been sat on for nearly 17 months and it was tho she had been ridden every day during her pregnancy, no lunging, just off we went! Some people called me mad, I said it was the trust that I have in my girl. It was as tho she said to me 'Thank God for that Mum, you finally took the hint and got on me'!!!
The babies continue to make me smile everyday. They are growing so big, but more so in personality. They are true Morgans and pick up things so quickly, most good, some cheeky! Louie continues to amaze me every day. I think hes going to be my big suprise. Just a lovely, friendly lovable boy! I still say Belle has been here before, she has a very wise head on those young shoulders.!She is just beautiful! Manny is still as awesome as ever. Hes a very special boy! I am very excited about showing them this year. Im sure they will promote themselves, and the Morgan Breed.
Heres to a wonderful New Year!!!!
